Sarah Dale

Learning Support Assistant

Life before Teesside High School

I studied Theatre and English Literature at York St. John University, followed by a PGCE in English at Durham University. I then taught as an English and Drama teacher in a variety of schools across the North East and Yorkshire. When my son was born, I started working with adults with learning disabilities in a number of creative roles within the local council. We put on shows at ARC as well as sewing items to sell in craft markets.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working with young people to achieve their goals both academically and personally.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

Everyone has made me feel so welcome; it really is like a family.

What is your favourite time of the year?

Without a doubt autumn! I love the colours of the leaves and the sound they make when you step on them, as well as getting curled up with a good book, a warm drink and my cat.

What do others say about you?

I think they would say I am friendly and approachable, as well as creative; it’s not often you would find me without a book or craft in my hands!
